Find a USA EMDR Institute Approved Facilitator-Consultant
For EMDR Basic Training participants completing their required consultation hours. Every person listed here is an EMDR Institute Approved Facilitator-Consultant located in the United States.
About your consultation hours
- Basic Training includes 10 total hours of consultation: 5 hours before Weekend 2 and 5 hours after Weekend 2.
- All hours must be completed with a facilitator-consultant approved by the EMDR Institute. Hours completed with a non-approved consultant will not be accepted.
- You do not need to choose someone near your location — consultation is commonly done remotely, so any consultant in this directory is an option.
- Each facilitator-consultant sets their own fees, schedule, availability, location, and consultation format (individual or group). Please contact them directly.
- If you would like group sessions (approx. $50/hour) or individual sessions (prices vary), please communicate this choice when contacting your consultant/facilitator.
More about consultants, requirements, and terms
Hours completed with a non-approved facilitator-consultant will not be accepted and will need to be redone. No exceptions.
This directory provides geographical and professional information about the EMDR Institute facilitator-consultants who supervise the practicum at the Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 trainings. They provide case consultation for the required 10 hours needed to complete Basic Training. Upon completion of your 10th hour of case consultation, you and your consultant will need to submit confirmation of your completed hours; you will then receive a Certificate of Completion Request Form from the Institute. Once completed and returned to us, we will either email or mail the certificates within 5 business days.
About the facilitator-consultants listed here
Clinicians in this directory have completed Facilitator Training — a training which provides a more extensive involvement in the understanding and use of the EMDR method, under the guidance and direct supervision of the EMDR Institute. The minimum eligibility standards required of Facilitators are: currently licensed or certified to provide clinical treatment, and maintaining current status as an EMDRIA Approved Consultant (see emdria.org for consultant requirements). Please note: EMDRIA is a separate organization from the EMDR Institute.
To maintain facilitator status, facilitator-consultants are required to review the Basic Training each year. Above all, all facilitator-consultants listed are committed to the adherence of the highest standard of ethics and clinical competence as representatives of the EMDR Institute training team. These standards were developed by the Facilitator Selection Committee.
Consultation
All fees, consultation offerings, available times, and locations are determined by the individual facilitator-consultant. Contact your choice directly for information about their consultation program.
As a service to EMDR practitioners (but not an endorsement of the consultations or providers), the EMDR Institute has prepared this listing to indicate the availability for consultation and the clinical specialties of each facilitator-consultant. The EMDR Institute acknowledges that the persons included in this directory are members of the EMDR Institute Facilitator team and are EMDRIA Approved Consultants in good standing. The EMDR Institute does not warrant or otherwise assume responsibility for the private consultation services provided by the clinicians listed, nor their competency to provide such consultation.
