André Maurício Monteiro, PhD
André Maurício Monteiro has been interested in Transgenerational Transmission of Trauma and Resources and EMDR Therapy since 1995. André holds a Doctorate in Psychology and took EMDR Basic Training in 2000.
He became an EMDR Institute Trainer in 2007 and a Trainer of Trainers in 2011. He is a Trainer of Trainers for EMDR Alliance for Latin America and the Caribbean (ALAC) since its founding. André is co-founder and current president of the Brazilian EMDR Association, and teaches regularly in Portugal, having become an EMDR Europe Senior Trainer in 2013, and an honorary member of the EMDR Portuguese Association.
He co-represents the Brazilian EMDR Association at the directive board of ALAC, and co-represents ALAC at the directive board of the EMDR Global Alliance: The International Society for EMDR Therapy (EGA), where he was 2025 Chair.
André has presented on TTTR at EMDR Conferences, such as EMDRIA, Brazil, Europe and Canada, and workshops in several cities in Brazil, Portugal, USA, Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay. He also presents and teaches on EMDR and group psychotherapy.
