Wendy Freitag, PhD

Clinical Psychologist and coach, with over 25 years of experience working with adults on personal and professional issues. She has a general psychotherapy practice in Milwaukee, WI, with extensive clinical experience in treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, mood and anxiety disorders, grief and anger issues, as well as facilitating personal and professional transitions and performance enhancement. She is an EMDR Institute Trainer and Logistician, and on faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee – School of Continuing Education, where she teaches an EMDR Basic Training course. Dr. Freitag currently serves as President of the EMDR Research Foundation since 2006. She is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, the co-founder and coordinator of the EMDRIA Wisconsin Regional Network, and a member of EMDRIA’s Professional Development subcommittee. Previously she was elected to serve in many roles that shaped the professionalism of EMDR therapy. She served EMDRIA as a President, Secretary, and Director from 1998-2006. During her tenure she served on every administrative committee and chaired the Educational Program and Professional Development Committee, which developed the initial basic training requirements used today.
